Nordic Track treadmills are a great way to exercise and give the whole body a great aerobic workout at the same time. It is also a lot more convenient that just running around a park or on the streets. If you use treadmill then you can do the same amount of exercise in the summer or in the middle of winter when the weather is bad and you would not usually want to go out or are unable to get out for a nice run. It also means that you can fit your exercise regiment into your timetable and not have to plan around it. A good treadmill is an essential piece of exercise equipment and a really good way to integrate your exercise into your daily schedule.

However, treadmills are not cheap and you need to know that you are getting the best one for your money. Even if you do not have a lot of money to spend on one there are still some good options as to which model you should consider buying. In fact, even in the lower priced treadmills there are some really good models and some really lousy models to choose from. Of course, if you do your research then you should be able to find out which is the best type for you to buy.

The best way to do this is to try to find some really good Nordic Track treadmill reviews that are not biased towards any particular type of machine. If you go into a store and ask which exercise machine or treadmill they think is the best then they will generally tell you that the machines that they sell are the best, but you can find reviews in magazines and on websites that are not directly selling the treadmills they are usually able to give a much more unbiased view. One of the best places to find these types of reviews is in the fitness and running magazines. They very often review the different Nordic track treadmills that are available and are able to test them thoroughly in order to provide unbiased Nordic Track treadmill reviews.

The other place that you could try to find them is on fitness websites. There are a lot of these and many of the larger ones have reviews where they have tested the machines and have not just relied on the data that is supplied by the manufacturer. Some websites do however review the machines that they are selling so it is a good idea to look through all of their treadmill recommendations in order to determine what they truly feel is the top Nordic Track treadmill. If you can find some good reviews then it can help you to make the decision in regards to which machine to buy a lot easier for you.

Today machines treadmills come with an attachment called reader rack treadmill that serves to keep the various accessories that come with this equipment.

  • Due to the high cost of these machines, we must take into account the quality of these accessories. These additions serve to hold laptops, books, newspapers, magazines or other things that we want to use for exercising, and so use the time and make exercise time more enjoyable. The Nordic Track C 900 treadmill is one of Nordic Track’s newest 2011 models, currently coming in at around $999. Most manufacturers – including Nordic Track – improve on older models every year.

And the C900 treadmill is no exception to this policy, coming with an upgraded motor, higher 15% incline and some very cool fitness tracking tools designed to entertain even the pickiest exerciser.

Is it the right treadmill for you? Well, here’s an overview of some of the strengths and weaknesses of the C900 treadmill to help you decide:

Strengths:

#1 Strong 3.0 HP Motor

This is one of the highest motor powers you can find at this price point. Many treadmills under $1000 give you from 1.5 to 2.75 HP. The motor also runs pretty quiet and will give you more than enough power to run the extra long 60″ belt.

#2 Long 60″ Belt

This is one of the longer belts you can find on a treadmill and it gives you a lot of extra room to move. Runners and taller users will especially like it. While a longer belt is usually found in $1500+ treadmills, it’s not as common at this price point.

#3 Run Trails All Over the World With iFit Live

The Nordic Track C 900 treadmill comes with iFit LIVE. This means that if you have wireless Internet in your home you can connect the C900 treadmill to the Internet. iFit LIVE is powered by Googlemaps and Google terrain so that you can run or walk different trails all over the world. You can even map out your own course.

You can customize and download your own workout programs and workout with Jillian Michaels from ‘The Biggest Loser’ – where she coaches you through your workout through the console speakers.

You can also track your activity and nutrition online and even download new daily workouts. So you’ll always have a new challenge.

#4 iPod/Mp3 Port With Speakers Built Into the Console

You can plug your iPod or MP3 player into the built-in audio jack and listen to your favorite music or audiobooks while you workout. This is a fairly common feature these days in many treadmills – but it’s still a nice touch to have on the C900 that can make your workouts more enjoyable.

#5 High 15% Incline

Most treadmills under $1000 only give you 10% incline – or 12% at best. With this higher incline you can burn more calories, build in tougher intervals and push yourself farther.

Weaknesses:

If you don’t have wireless Internet in your home, you won’t get the full use out of iFit LIVE – although there are still 20 built in workout programs you can use as well.

Also while the C900 is a great starter treadmill, if you’re looking for a commercial grade feel or something specifically built for runners with some extra substance you may want to look at higher end models.

The Bottom Line:

The Nordic Track C 900 treadmill is an impressive new 2011 model from Nordic Track, giving you a strong motor, long belt and some fun, cutting-edge workout toys. Buyers seem to agree as well. According to my sources at Nordic Track it’s actually outselling one of their most popular treadmills – the A2750 – at a 2 to 1 ratio.

While it doesn’t have the substance of a commercial health club treadmill, for the price you do get a lot of value. It might be worth checking out if you’re looking for a good buy for under $1000.

Treadmills, being fitness equipment, are not purchased on the basis of their brand names alone. Moreover, each brand produces a wide variety of treadmills with different features. Hence, it lies more in the discretion of the purchaser to buy a treadmill that is more suited to him/her.

Treadmills are very effective exercise equipment, but they can be quite expensive. People who have tight budgets but still want the convenience of a treadmill at home could opt for a used treadmill.

There are many people who buy quality treadmills and then find that they do not have the time or inclination to work out. Such treadmills often find their way to used treadmill stores. Such treadmills may be hardly used at all yet can be found at dirt-cheap rates. Used treadmill sellers also tweak their treadmills a little and refurbish them, so that the resold product is sometimes better than the original one.

Used treadmills can be found in stores that sell used exercise equipment, but most used treadmill sales take place over the Internet. Sometimes gyms and health clubs may sell their old treadmills when they plan to renovate. These treadmills are usually the best. Treadmills used in gyms and health clubs are sturdier and more heavy-duty than home treadmills. Even though they may have been used for a couple of years, treadmills from such facilities have a longer lifespan. They also have more features and better quality parts.

While going for a used treadmill, the first thing to check is that the moving parts all function properly. In fact, you must use the treadmill for a couple of minutes to see that everything is in working order. If the treadmill belt moves jerkily, then there is a problem with it. Treadmills also tend to get noisier over time, as their lubrication wears off. Check that the used treadmill you are getting is not too noisy. Stores may use some temporary lubrication to reduce this effect.

If you are buying from a used equipment store, be sure to ask the storekeeper about the history of the treadmill you wish to purchase. An experienced eye can deduce the wear and tear of the treadmill by observing the tread of the belt, the paint on the handrails, the functioning of the console, etc. That brings us to the console. Computer parts of the treadmills are their most sensitive parts. Over time, these may develop defects, and may not function at all. Check each and every feature of the treadmill. Without the console functioning properly, you may not be able to use most of the features of the treadmill.

The price of a used treadmill depends on its age and quality. Be sure to cross-check the current original price of the treadmill you are buying. There should be enough difference in the costs of the new and used treadmills to compensate for its usage. Used treadmill sellers also give short-term warranties. A final word – there is no point buying a used treadmill that is already of a cheap make. If at all you decide to buy a used treadmill, opt for the high-quality products. Cheaper treadmills are less sturdy and may break down within days of installation at your house.
